Zeb Jr and Guinness girls at Mannions

Friday, September 11th, 2009

We took Zeb out to Mannions in Somerville, to celebrate the birth of Zeb Jr. The Guinness girls were up here, complete with bedazzeled Guinness shirts. They had a St. James Gate game and we won some Guinness glasses poky little puppy online with the 250 logo and black & tan spoons. They’ll be beck here Friday and of course on the 24th. Zeb is even drinking a Guinness. Maybe we finally converted him. Congratulations Zeb and Sam on your beautiful baby boy!

More Guinness 250 Anniversary Updates

Friday, September 11th, 2009

G250
We got a press release from Guinness on the upcomming 250 celebrations. Here are more details. I am going to try to track down some information on US celebrations, because though I’ve heard there should be some. I have not seen any details on any. Official or not we will definitely be raising a pint to Arthur on September 24 (which I realised is also my fathers birthday!, he’s not as excited about it as I).

Straight from the horses mouth:

3GS Guinness Pour

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

We got us some iPhones. I thought they’d be cool and all, but they’re really way cooler than I’d imagined. One of the new features on the 3GS is the video camera. You know we had to test that out. Here is our fist pour with it. This entire post has actually been done on the phone, Shot the video, uploaded it to YouTube, and posted it on the blog. That means I can write this thing off right? I am suprised by the video quality.

Fridgits Guinness Pour

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Fridgits are a toy that you put on your fridge then drop a marble and watch it fall down to the bottom. I saw them in the toy box and thought they would make for an awesome pour. We threw them in the dishwasher, cause we didn’t want to waste a Guinness (if that’s not illegal it should be). It kind of reminds me of a fountain.

Guinness is for Lovers Pour

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

Zi6_0047This is our last beach pour. We were hoping to do this pour with a sand pint in the background. Our attempts at making this sand pint were a complete and utter failure. We found a neat little sand castle and went to use that, but when our backs were turned someone came through and ruined that. We set up on the remnants of this castle and noticed there had been a couple standing on the beach, with out moving for the last 10 minutes or so. We set up our shot and they cooperated nicely and stayed still for the next few minutes. The ocean is a beautiful thing and there really isn’t anything nicer than watching it with the one you love (except maybe if you both have a Guinness too).

Surfers Guinness Pour

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

We’ve been going to the shore every year for almost ever. Surfing seems to continue to grow in popularity every year. The surfers will come out soon after the lifeguards pack it in for the day. It’s definitely fun to watch. We were out flying kites when we filmed this. It’s kind of hard to incorperate those into a pour video.

Jetty Guinness Pour

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Zi6_0042As you know we were at the shore (beach for you non-Jersians) last week. We have some more videos from that to share with you this week. This pour was done on a jetty. Those things get pretty Buy Viagra slippery once you get out on them. You can see some parasailers behind this one. You can’t beat the beauty of a Guinness with the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean.

Sunburned Guinness Pour

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

This pour is in honor of the Sun. The Sun is a powerful thing, not to be messed with. It seems the the SPF 30 suntan lotion applied to my back was nothing for the rays of the sun to get through. I imagine the Sun laughed maniacally while my skin was being cooked by it’s minions. This happened on our first day at the beach. Bending over most of the day while building a sand castle probably didn’t help much. We do have plans to make a sand pint, hopefully we can figure out the physics of that one. Burn Baby Burn!

Beach House Guinness Pour

Monday, July 27th, 2009

We are at the shore for the week. This should be the first of many pour videos. The house we rented for the week didn’t have any proper pint glasses, and we forgot to bring any. We scoured the boardwalk looking for some pint glasses. We found 2. I like this glass and how the head on the Guinness layers nicely against the green rim. The other glass will show up soon. This pour really reminds me of Clockwork Orange. I guess it’s those white tiles. We would have liked to do something outside, but it was raining.
